Eviva Services Ltd – Installation of the Birmingham Airport fire alarm assembly point traffic signs with associated controls and fire alarm interfacing.
Working with our client Eviva Services ltd we were selected to provide a solution from concept drawing to fully operational bespoke Wig Wag signals for Birmingham Airport. Following a review and a subsequent revision of the muster points for the fire alarm zone areas, there was a requirement to replace existing traffic management signs and install additional new traffic management signs to halt the movement of traffic across the designated muster points which are located on the airside roads.
The signals comprised of two alternate flashing red signals incorporated into a reflective sign to stop vehicles from proceeding once the fire evacuation procedure had been activated. Once the protocol is activated the system allows the signs with Wig Wags to operate until the event has concluded, and all signals will switch off. The works include the installation of the signs (incorporating wig-wag style red flashing lights) and LV power cabling and connections as required for the operation of the traffic lights via an interface with the existing fire alarm system zones as appropriate to the location of the muster point.
Eviva Services Ltd required a product to connect to their electrical design. Mallatite Limited designed and manufactured a suitable solution for the project working alongside Eviva Services Ltd to ensure the specific requirements were incorporated into the design.
