ABCITE® ROOT COATING LINE COMMISSIONED
In August 2004, the automatic production equipment for our unique high performance root protection system known as TRP2 was commissioned.
This bespoke equipment is specifically designed to coat the planted root of the column both internally and externally, including 250mm above ground, with our DuPont Abcite ® fusion bonded powder coating.
Abcite ® - this finish gives the highest level of corrosion protection. Fusion bonded to a galvanized base giving excellent lifetime protection, this special powder coating, developed by the DuPont Company, has been used successfully on many of our traffic products for over a decade.
This type of finish is maintenance free for many years, can be repaired if accidentally damaged, and is ideal for polluted or particularly demanding environments (e.g. marine).
MALLATITE WINS PORTSMOUTH PFI
In October 2004 Mallatite added the supply of lighting columns for Portsmouth PFI to our already impressive list of PFI contracts.
This list already boasts the inclusion of the London Borough of Islington, Wakefield, Sunderland and Manchester, with the Manchester contract specifying our unique Abcite ® root protection system TRP2, whilst Islington and Sunderland have chosen to have their columns fully Abcite ® coated.
NEW FOLDING COLUMN NOW AVAILABLE
The latest addition to our family of folding columns is the Superflex mid-hinged model.
It is operated by a self sustaining winching system and it can be quickly lowered for lantern maintenance. It also has a door so there is no need to lower the column for base compartment inspection.
This is available in 5, 6 & 8m variants and offers excellent value for money.
